Announcement (2023/03/01)

Dear Authors and Readers,

It is with regret that we announce the cessation of publication of our scholarly journal, effective immediately. Due to various factors, we have made the difficult decision to discontinue the journal's publication as of the current issue. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

We would like to express our deepest appreciation to all of our supporters and readers over the years. In recent years, we have worked with scholars and experts from around the world to publish many high-quality academic papers and research findings, making a valuable contribution to the academic community. However, due to financial difficulties and changes in the industry, we are no longer able to sustain the publication of the journal.

For articles and issues that have already been published, we will continue to provide online access and download services, in order to protect the rights of the authors and to promote academic achievements.

Finally, we would like to thank you once again for your support and trust over the years. We will continue to keep abreast of developments and changes in the academic publishing industry and hope to reunite with you again in the near future.

Sincerely,

Intergrams: Studies in Languages&Literatures

Introduction

INTERGRAMS is an electronic journal published by The Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures, National Chung Hsing University (Taichung, Taiwan, 402). INTERGRAMS invites submissions of papers on languages and literatures. Articles may be written in Chinese or English. Submissions in French, German, Japanese, Spanish, or other languages will be accepted, with publication pending editorial approval. Bi-annual submission deadlines are March 31 and September 30.  Papers will be uploaded right after they are peer-reviewed and accepted for publication.

Submission Guidelines

Submit electronic papers along with abstracts and keywords in the format of DOC, DOCX ( MS Word for Windows), or HTML to  intergrams@mail.nchu.edu.tw .  We request the inclusion of the following information in your package: your academic title, department, institution, mailing address, telephone, fax, and email. For Chinese papers, the recommended style is that of Chung Wai Literary Quarterly while English papers must comply with MLA standards. Do not submit previously published articles, unless they are invited or approved by INTERGRAMS for electronic reprint. INTERGRAMS will not be liable to any legal action resulting from publication.  All rights for published articles belong to the author.

Paragraphing

Since the Internet browsers available do not support the print concept of pagination, we choose to add paragraph numbers manually to the HTML files for the traditional purpose of referential convenience.  This format is also adopted by the electronic journal, Postmodern Culture.

Exception

Your original text in hypertextual form may be published as is according to editorial discretion.  For an example of this type, see Nancy Kaplan's paper, E-Literarcies. The width and length of a web-paper could be modified if any part of your text needs special arrangement.  For an example of this type, see Horng-ming Wu's "Verbs and Governing Category Determination."
