Taro Cake is a traditional snack in Taiwan. Originally, it was only made during Ghost Festival as a type of offering, but now it is a popular dessert which can be purchased at stands everywhere. The Taro Cake is glutinous with a mild scent of taro. Essential ingredients include diced taro, sliced onion, shrimp, salt, sugar and pepper. The ingredients are combined with water and flour, and then it is cut into smaller pieces and steamed for one hour before serving.
